  • Corsham: A pretty stone medieval wool town full of fine buildings notably Corsham Court with its celebrated picture collection and the outstanding 1668 Grade 1 listed Hungerford Almshouses and Schoolroom with its original panelled  schoolroom and museum.

  • Lacock Abbey: Glorious medieval abbey (National Trust) set in meadows by the Avon and charming film set village where Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Cranford and other films were shot.

  • Bradford-on-Avon: Picturesque medieval wool town either side of a stone bridge full of interest and with a spectacular stone Tithe Barn.

  • MalmesburyOnce had one of the tallest spires in England on the splendid Abbey.   The spire fell down one night without injuring anyone and was not rebuilt but some of the Abbey remains along with the lovely old town and the glorious Abbey Gardens.
